On Fire

We came out of the store, and I stopped in my tracks. The sky looked like it was on fire. It was the prettiest thing I'd seen all day. He loaded the groceries while I took pictures. We drove home looking up the whole way.

Pick-Me-Up

On these dreary, dreary days, I need a little pick-me-up, which is why I'm so very happy for extra hot chai tea lattes and some of my latest obsessions:

Reprieve

It's been raining for the past two weeks, and the weathermen say we have another week or two to go. Rain is not good for Californians. Mud slides and pile ups aside, it makes us sad and mean and grumpy. That's why this little rainbow was such a nice suprise. It relieved the grumpiness, if only for a few minutes.

First Cups

I stopped in to grab a coffee before heading back to the apartment and was suddenly overwhelmed with the memory of meeting him for the first time.

I'm sure everyone thought it was strange when I snapped a photo of the table, but I didn't care. That table is the exact table we sat at, sipping coffee and making small talk, over three years ago.

It's so funny to think how that first coffee turned into so many more, taking us all the way to where we are now.

Some people have such great energy that they bring fun and exciting events into their lives as easily as they breathe, it seems. That's how it is with her. A Healthy New Year

The new year always gets me all amped up and inspired, and suddenly, come January, I find I'm busy with a million new hobbies, new goals, new places to visit and the new person I'd like to be.

I'm guessing I'm not alone in wanting to be healthier this year - more veggies and less chocolate is the goal - but I also want to bring health to other parts of my life. I want healthier teeth, healthier hair, a healthier outlook on life and a healthy car that will run for many more miles. I want to find a church I love and make some new friends and carve out more time for craftiness and creativity, and - in the midst of it all - I want to take it easier, lazier and give the people in my life the time and attention they deserve.

So many things, and the year's just started. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't totally excited about it all. I hope you are, too - and I hope 2010 is full of everything you love.
